Introduction
Since its foundation in 1990, Halker Ltd. shows a continuous and dynamic improvement and it has became one of the leading and most determining player on the western Hungarian gastronomic market. The organization moved to Balatonboglár, to its current headquarter in 1997, furthermore, in the same year another site has been opened in Veszprém. In 2005 our newest agency was built, which is proudly serving our customers since then.
The expansion of the European Union provided excellent opportunities by merging the European markets. We have taken the chance and we have set off our expansive business politics in foreign trade as well. Our developing import and export activities helped us to build a continuously growing partner base throughout Central Europe, while we kept up our good connections in Western-Europe and in South-America.
In 2003 Halker was a founder of the Mirbest Group, which is strong and ambitious alliance of nine firms with similar profile. The organization is specialized in the purveyance of fast-frozen food; moreover its members are trading all over Hungary. The member main joint activities are the following:
- centralized purveyance
- common product listings
- common enlisting
- centralized promotions
- common, country-wide discounts
- common marketing
- jointed marketing support and trade of the private brands (Kukta, BoVita)
- etc.
At the beginning of 2009, Halker realized that there is a demand on the market, for a firm which is providing a wide range of dairy and meat products. Seeing this need we did not hesitate, and founded SióFriss Ltd. which is providing all its services proudly, as one of the most important strategic partners of Halker Ltd.
In 2009 we also established Mirkom Ltd. in Slovakia (Komarno). This was the most important step in the expansion of our export activities to the neighboring countries. And now, Mirkom represents with pride, the “Halker” quality of service and professionalism in the south Slovakian market.
The history behind our organization and all the experiences in food trading and production all helps us the make sure that Halker’s every single business partner will get the best and most flexible service possible. Our fleet, which consists of more than 60 trucks (carrying capacity between 1,5 and 14 tons) ensures that we are able to serve all our clients, irrespective of if they are retailers or wholesalers.
The three main product groups we are distributing are:
- Different frozen freshwater and saltwater fishes and fish products. (packed for gastro consumers)
- Frozen fruits and vegetables
- And last, but not least, our private brands (Halker, BoVita, Balatonparti Ízek) which cover basically the same products, as the above mentioned groups, but in smaller packs and with completely different marketing and promotions.

The capacity of our fish processor, frozen vegetable and fruit packaging plants guarantee for our company to successfully supply gastronomic and retail consumers and hypermarkets as well. Both producer units were built after 2004 and are equipped with modern food industry technology in order to fulfill the highest EU standards.
We store our products in our coldstore which have a maximum capacity of 3200 palette and are compatible with the latest EU regulations and are equipped with moveable shelf system.
Our firm is improving its product range on a daily basis, and now we are proud to say that we trade with more than 1000 different products altogether. The biggest products groups we are distributing beside the 3 main above mentioned product groups , are the following:
